Investment Casting India
Neocast Alloys is a leading investment casting manufacturer in India, delivering precision lost wax castings for global industries with 50+ alloy grades and ISO certified quality.
What is Investment Casting?
Investment casting, also known as lost wax casting, is one of the oldest and most precise metal forming techniques dating back 5,000 years. Today, it remains the preferred method for producing complex, high-precision metal components.
The process involves creating a wax pattern that is coated with ceramic slurry to form a mold. When heated, the wax melts away (is "lost"), leaving a precise cavity for molten metal. This technique yields exceptional dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
At Neocast Alloys, we utilize advanced investment casting technology to manufacture precision components for valve, pump, marine, automotive, and defence industries worldwide.

Advantages of Investment Casting
Discover why investment casting is the preferred choice for precision components
Exceptional Precision
Achieve tolerances as tight as ±0.1mm with surface finishes of Ra 1.6-6.3 μm, reducing or eliminating secondary machining.
Complex Geometries
Cast intricate shapes, thin walls, undercuts, and internal passages that are impossible or costly with other manufacturing methods.
Superior Surface Finish
Smooth as-cast surfaces reduce finishing costs and are ideal for decorative or fluid-handling applications.
Material Versatility
Cast over 50+ alloy grades including carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, nickel alloys, and cobalt-based super alloys.
Near-Net Shape
Minimize material waste and machining time with components cast close to final dimensions and specifications.
Consistent Quality
Repeatable process ensures dimensional consistency across production batches with zero casting defects.

Tooling & Die Making
Precision aluminum or steel dies are crafted using CAD/CAM technology to create accurate wax patterns that replicate the final component geometry.
Wax Pattern Injection
Molten wax is injected into the die under controlled temperature and pressure to produce dimensionally accurate wax patterns with fine surface details.
Pattern Assembly
Multiple wax patterns are assembled onto a central wax sprue (tree) to allow efficient casting of multiple components in a single pour.
Ceramic Shell Building
The wax assembly is repeatedly dipped in ceramic slurry and coated with fine refractory sand to build a strong, heat-resistant ceramic shell.
Dewaxing (Lost Wax)
The ceramic shell is heated in an autoclave or flash fire furnace to melt and drain the wax, leaving a precise hollow mold cavity.
Shell Firing
The empty ceramic shell is fired at high temperatures (1000-1100°C) to achieve maximum strength and remove any residual wax or moisture.
Metal Pouring
Molten metal is poured into the preheated ceramic mold under controlled conditions, ensuring complete filling and minimal defects.
Shell Knockout
After cooling, the ceramic shell is broken away through mechanical vibration or water blasting to reveal the raw metal castings.
Finishing & Inspection
Castings undergo gate cutting, grinding, heat treatment, machining, and comprehensive NDT testing before final packaging and dispatch.
